Dream vacation for divers
"We were at the Moana for the second time in March 2019.
For us it was the most beautiful diving vacation we ever had. The crew on the Moana really takes care of everything. We simply enjoyed the warm hospitality of the whole Moana crew. We would like to experience such a service somewhere in Europe, simply at its best and the owner Stefan and his team (Mario, Melanie and the Indonesian crew) have developed strongly and in detail. We again appreciated the spacious cabins and meanwhile there is even a salon and a new dive deck with a new speedboat, too.
We could go on pondering for a long time. To make a long story short: we will come back and warmly recommend the Moana to all diving and cruising enthusiasts."

Unforgettable experience
"I do not know where to start. The Moana with Mario and his crew is doing an excellent job in every respect.
The ship is beautiful, spacious, and in top condition. The crew is great, warm and does a professional job!
The dive sites are visited according to the tides etc. and the guys know the sites and their pitfalls but also the advantages in and out. Of course it's mostly drift searches, but those who go diving with Komodo know about it and what to expect. The food was awesome and unbelievable what the two cooks in the galley conjured up. My compliments! Also Marsi has to be mentioned at this point, who is always trying to make sure that the guests and the cabins are comfortable and that everything is just great. Great guy, thanks Marsi!
We must thank Mario who manages everything and is responsible for all sizes and smaller requests/questions etc.
He is always available and has the boat under control and knows the area with its currents etc. like the back of his hand. Many thanks to Moana for the unforgettable time...we will see you again!"

Highly recommended
"In October 2018 we were allowed to spend five days on the Moana with the whole family (4 persons). It was a unique experience and we can only recommend it to everyone. Even though there were divers with absolutely different levels on the ship, Mario managed to satisfy everyone. The dive guides were perfectly assigned, the groups were split up perfectly, the dives were explained fabulously. The atmosphere on the boat was characterised by a friendly and nice contact with each other, the food was great, the service as well.
The ship is in a top condition, the cabins are lovingly designed, the deck area on the deck invited to relax. When we were allowed to watch one of the highlights with musical accompaniment (it is not spoiled), the vacation feeling was perfect. You forget the everyday life and can live on for a long time. We will definitely travel again with Moana at any time."

When it comes to the diving Komodo is probably one of the best places to come to. In Komodo every diving experience level gets their cut and as the marine life diversity is so great each different diving interest is covered.
Do
know that at times - depending on the moon cycle - the drift can be great and not all dive sites are suitable for every diver. However we are flexible and can simply arrange for more protected dive sites.
The Komodo National Park is located in the center of the Indonesian archipelago, between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores around 500km east of Bali.
It was stablished in 1980 to conserve the unique Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis)
and its habitat. In 1991 the Park was declared a World Heritage Site and a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, both indications of the Park's biological importance and beauty.
You have a few weeks off, want to relax yet experience fun activities and have a great time.

The dive sites around Komodo are usually tropical warm. On the surface the water is 27/28°C. It can cool down to average 25°C on most dive sites. Please note that due to thermoclines you might experience
a small drop, too.
More interesting to know is that most of our Komodo diving guests wear a 5mm long wetsuit for their dives in the Komodo National Park.
Being certified as Advanced Open Water Diver is certainly helpful but we do not require you to hold that certification. We believe that quality training is important although we believe in proper awareness
of each diver individually.
Know your experience and ability, err on the side of caution and be conservative in all your diving behavior and actions. Be concious at all times about the consequences
and it's ok to say "No". It's not only you that is effected by your actions. There are others involved.
No, we do not offer Nitrox.
We believe you won't need it:
Komodo offers all kinds of dive sites and diving types. Yes, it is known for strong currents too. Those are caused and effected by the moon cycle as in any other area in the world. Of course there will be drift dives (and even reef hook dives) we also choreograph our Komodo liveaboard trip to balance drift dives with other dive types. Also note that we will always see the experience level and interest of our guests and act, plan our trips accordingly.
With maximum 10 guests and two local dive guides we have the max ratio of 5:1. Keep in mind that our Cruise Director is also available for guiding (less experienced) divers and we also have usually some cruising / snorkeling guests which reduces the ratio, too.
Yes. Apart from 8 full diving sets incl. dive computers there are plenty of different sizes for wet suits, boots and fins available. Also our BCD range is large. You can get the full set for 200 Euro / diver / trip. Individual prices are available too. Check the prices page.
